| My go-to music for getting into the painting groove has always been Foster the People, specifically the Supermodel album. Something about their style has always inspired me to be creative. So as a homage to that inspiration, and because I love painting things that are small, detailed, and unexpected on a horse, meet Foster the Pony. It was a lot of fun creating him. Trying to figure out how to paint each song art piece onto this 3D sculpture was at times very challenging! Artwork was designed by Young & Sick. The patterns on his legs were taken from the dog in the music video for Pseudologia Fantastica. This horse was completed on 3/20/18, the first day of spring. It is bittersweet to be done with him, as I will miss trying to figure out how to incorporate the art, how to sketch it on and color it - I was afraid to tackle the Coming of Age dog initially. I created this piece all freehand using the artwork in the album leaflet as my guide. He was painted in acrylics with a 10/0 paintbrush, and toothpicks. I hope someday I can attend another FTP concert and have him signed. He will never leave my collection. |

| On September 2, 2017, we all attended the Foster the People concert for their Sacred Hearts Club tour. I have not attended a concert since No Doubt 5/24/97, and since I consider FTP to be my favorite band I was more than a little excited for this concert! Sir Sly opened and it was really an enjoyable time. The pony at that date was not even close to being completed, really he only had half a side painted up, and looked like this: |
